Our Vein Treatment Options

Varicose Veins

Varicose Veins

These rope-like veins can cause heaviness, swelling, and pain in your legs, especially when your day involves standing. Our team starts by offering a simple assessment or a duplex ultrasound if needed. Next, we develop a strategy to help alleviate your discomfort as well as eliminate the rope veins appearing on your legs.

Spider Veins

Spider Veins

Small red, blue, or purple veins that are close to the skin. These veins can be cosmetic only; however, after a long day, they can itch or sting. Since surface veins can be fed by slightly deeper veins, first we will check if that is the case and then discuss possible session-type care and timelines.

Restless Legs

Restless Legs

That urge to move at the end of the day, along with swelling or aching, can mimic restless legs. Sometimes the cause is venous reflux. If that’s the case, a few small changes and, when appropriate, a simple procedure can make nights feel easier.

Cosmetic Hand and Facial Veins

Cosmetic Hand and Facial Veins

If you are concerned about prominent hand veins or tiny facial vessels, we can help soften their appearance with little downtime. Vein treatment options will be tailored to your skin type and goals.

How We Treat Your Veins

  • Radiofrequency ablation (RFA): A thin catheter delivers controlled heat to close faulty veins, an outpatient procedure designed for comfort and quick recovery.
  • VenaSeal™ closure: A medical adhesive seals the problem vein without heat; done in-office with minimal downtime.
  • Sclerotherapy: Targeted injections shrink and fade visible veins; used for legs, face, and hands.

More Ways We Help

Ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy

Using ultrasound, we guide a soft micro-foam into deeper “feeder” veins, great for stubborn clusters or recurrences.

Microphlebectomy

By means of a few small openings, we remove the ropey surface veins that won’t flatten with other care. Anesthesia is only used in localized areas. No stitches or glue are needed. Patients can usually walk the same day.

Compression & conservative care

Medical-grade compression, short walks, leg elevation, and simple skincare can reduce aching and swelling and support long-term results.

Duplex ultrasound & mapping.

High-resolution imaging validates reflux, maps vein pathways, and allows us to determine the wisest order in which to treat.

Staged plans.

For best results, it’s usually necessary to begin with the source vein and then finalize the cleanup of small branches and spider veins. All of this is timed to keep the recovery process going smoothly.

FAQs About Vein Treatment at the Vein Institute

Do I need a referral?

Usually not. Most patients book with us directly. We will help you confirm and coordinate it if your plan requires one.

Can I drive myself?

Generally, yes. Procedures use local anesthesia. If we expect anything stronger, very rare, we’ll let you know in advance so you can plan a ride.

How soon can I walk or exercise?

You can start walking on the same day. It is good for your circulation. Low-impact activities can easily begin in 2-3 days. More strenuous activities can begin in a week unless your provider says differently.

Does the health insurance plan include treatment?

Coverage is usually not an issue if symptoms and ultrasound indicate medical necessity. Findings would have to be confirmed first before treatment.

Do you treat spider veins for cosmetic purposes?

Yes. Sclerotherapy is always performed on the spider veins on the legs, face, or hands. To have the best effect, a short series of procedures is expected.

What happens at the first appointment?

We will discuss your symptoms and goals. A focused exam will follow. A duplex ultrasound may be ordered if warranted to trace reflux. You will leave with a plan to follow.
